Signs your baby is ready for Solid Food . . .
- Baby can sit upright in a highchair and hold their head up.
- Baby has doubled their birth weight and weighs at least 13lbs.
- Baby can close their mouth around a spoon.
- Baby can move food from the front to the back of their mouth.
It is good to introduce new foods one at a time. Wait a couple of days if possible before offering a new food. (If your baby has had a history of allergies, talk to your baby's doctor before offering new foods).
